Led by Head Varsity Coach Nicole Huston, alongside JV Coach Danielle Montesano and Modified Coach Katelyn O’Neill, the Whitney Point coaching staff was recognized for its exceptional leadership, sustained competitive excellence, and continued impact on the development of student-athletes throughout the fall season.

Selected by a committee of NFHCA member coaches, this prestigious annual award honors one outstanding scholastic coaching staff from each of the 10 regions nationwide. Coaching staffs are evaluated on overall team performance, postseason success and the leadership demonstrated both on and off the field.

“Whitney Point Central School District is proud of the field hockey coaches for receiving this honor,” said Director of Athletics, Health & Physical Education Murphee Hayes. “The coaches set a standard for excellence within their field hockey program, guiding their teams with preparation, growth and commitment. They foster a culture of dedication, resilience and teamwork in the field hockey program.”

Whitney Point delivered a remarkable 20-0-1 season, showcasing consistent dominance throughout the year. The Eagles capped off their undefeated campaign by capturing their fifth consecutive New York Class C State Championship, further cementing the program’s place among the state’s elite.

To be eligible for NFHCA consideration, coaching staffs must be active NFHCA members, finish the season with at least a .500 record and compete in postseason play. Coach Huston and her staff exceeded every benchmark, reflecting a program culture built on discipline, teamwork, and excellence.

The NFHCA congratulates Coach Nicole Huston, Coaches Danielle Montesano and Katelyn O’Neill, and the entire Whitney Point field hockey program on this well-deserved honor and their continued positive impact on high school field hockey in New York.
