Whitney Point athletes are excelling across multiple sports this postseason, earning spots in Section IV and NYSPHSAA championship events.
The Whitney Point girls varsity volleyball team fought through a strong pool play performance to earn its place in the Section IV Class B Championship, where it will face Oneonta at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 9, at Tioga Central School District.

The Whitney Point field hockey team advances to the NYSPHSAA Regional Championship, which will take place at 3 p.m. Nov. 8, at Tymeson Field at Whitney Point High School. The Golden Eagles will face Section VIII in the Class C matchup.
Tickets are $9.40 through GoFan digital ticketing only. Children 10 and under are admitted free. Section and NYSPHSAA passes will be honored. No cash tickets will be accepted. Tickets are available at GoFan – Field Hockey Regionals.
Adding to the weekend’s excitement, Whitney Point swimmers Riley Burke and Alyssa Widdall have advanced to the Section IV Girls Swimming and Diving Finals at Watkins Glen High School Pool at 11 a.m. Nov. 8.
