Seven Whitney Point teachers are New York State Master Teachers.

We are proud to celebrate the outstanding educators in our district who have been recognized through the New York State Master Teacher Program, including this year’s newest honoree, Mr. Clain, alongside our current Master Teachers and Master Counselor.

A second-grade special education teacher at Caryl E. Adams Primary School, he joins the ranks of seven Master Teachers and one Master Counselor in Whitney Point Central School District. Afforded the status of Master Teachers Emeritus are Gene Jordan, Ethan Leet, Teresa Monico and Andrea Stanley. Current Master Teachers are Mary Clark and Jennifer Dean. Last year saw Elizabeth Konicki recognized as the first NYS Master Counselor for Whitney Point.

Selection to the NYS Master Teacher Program is a highly competitive and distinguished honor, recognizing some of the state’s most accomplished educators. Candidates are chosen through a rigorous, multi-step application and interview process that highlights excellence in instruction, leadership and commitment to student success. This prestigious statewide network brings together some of New York's most dedicated and innovative educators, all committed to professional growth, collaboration and inspiring the next generation of learners. Together, they represent the very best of our district and the impact great educators have both inside and beyond the classroom.
