Thomas Tasber

 Mr. Thomas Tasber has been a resident of the district for over 30 years.  Along with wife Norene, they have three children that attended and graduated from Whitney Point.  Tom's strong ties to the school and community have resulted in many volunteer commitments including religious education teacher, PTA, music boosters, youth club coach, vacation bible school and after prom to name a few.  Mr. Tasber has worked as an educator at Finch Hollow for over 36 years and as a school board member for over 12.  These long term experiences have given a unique perspective and understanding not only of our district, but also an insight to other local schools.  Tom believes that our students should continue to be afforded the best educational opportunity available while being fiscally responsible to the community.  Mr. Tasber is honored to have served on the board and would respectfully ask to be considered again for this new term.   

Erik Sculley

Erik Sculley

Erik Sculley has been a resident of Whitney Point since 2000. Erik also has served our community as a Volunteer Fighter upon moving here. Erik has held the position of Captain since 2001 and continues his 36 years of total service. Pride in service is what he enjoys most of this position. Helping community members and those that travel through our area is one of the most rewarding feelings.

 Erik spent his professional career in the fields of Hotel and Restaurant Management and also Safety and Security Operations and Management. Providing Excellent customer service in both fields is a polished skill that he posses that is highly transferrable to a vast majority of industries. Meeting a customer’s needs and making them feel important is what he excels at. A fair balanced attitude and an open mind is another key skill in his toolbox. Erik is medically retired since 2019 due to an injury.

 Although Erik did not attend our district, his son is currently a Junior in the Whitney Point School District. His son has actively participated in the district’s sports programs and youth club since a young age. Basketball, Lacrosse and Football are what his son enjoys most. He is also attending the BOCES Auto Body Repair program.

 With his continued service to the community and the combination of his professional experience, Erik feels that he is ready take it to the next level and work to continue the great success of our school district and it’s board. Erik is very driven and get’s things done. Erik has a special interest in Anti Bullying, Student Safety and an overall commitment to the increase of open communication between students, parents, staff, administration and the district residents.

 Erik says, “The children of our community are our greatest asset. We must do whatever it takes to ensure that have every opportunity possible available to them. They ARE our future.”

Molly Willis

Molly Willis

Molly Willis and her husband, Roy, live on his family farm in Nanticoke and have five children, the youngest two of whom are students at the high school.  Mrs. Willis was born and raised in a small town in Missouri and has called New York home for 18 years.  She has a BS in Psychology and a Masters in Social Work.  Mrs. Willis has been actively involved in volunteer work in her children’s schools, church, and activities. She served on the board of directors for four years at an Ithaca not-for-profit agency.  Mrs. Willis has also worked in several capacities in education, including five years at her children’s school in Ithaca.  She has served as a substitute teacher at several area schools, including Whitney Point.  Mrs. Willis has a passion for helping people and making a difference in the community. One way of doing that, she believes, is making our school environment a welcoming, safe place where every student can grow and reach their full potential.  Mrs. Willis emphasizes that in order for this to happen, students, parents, teachers, and staff should all be heard, respected and work together.

Thomas McGrath

Thomas McGrath, is a lifelong Whitney Point resident. Raised in Whitney Point, his family has been established in the community and school for decades. Thomas currently has three children enrolled in WPCSD. He is an Information Technology Professional over the past 25yrs in local K-12 schools, government, and private sector. He sat as Chair of Technology Committees in K-12 involving Faculty, Staff, Board Members, and community members. Continued community involvement with Point Bible Church, Scouts, and coaching. His strengths are in family, research, creative discussions, and Team building. He will provide a point of view that is a true sample of our community. He has new ideas, approaches, and resolutions to the difficult issues within our environment. We are Whitney Point Central School Proud, and only as a community we will continue to thrive.
