Five smiling culinary students in matching chef uniforms along with their two cooking instructors proudly hold two awards indoors.

Congratulations to Whitney Point’s Mason Babcock, one of five Broome-Tioga BOCES Culinary Arts students who competed in the 15th annual Fresh Food Faceoff fundraiser. Mason was part of the winning team who won the People’s Choice Award as well as the Best Pork Award against 18 different restaurants at Cornell Cooperative Extension in Binghamton on September 15! 

In addition to Mason, other members of the team included Kassandra Dawson (Deposit), Tristyn Gee (Susquehanna Valley), Caleb Hunt (Binghamton) and Shaneilis Lopez (Binghamton). The team cooked a crispy pork and rice bowl with fried wontons as their award-winning creation.
