Voting in all NYS public school districts will be by absentee ballot. There will be no in-person voting. Absentee ballots are being mailed to district voters.
Do You Need Additional Ballots?
If you have more than one qualified voter (see qualifications below) in your household and would like additional ballots, please call 692-8313 and leave the name of the qualified voter needing the ballot, along with their address and phone number.
Instructions for Submitting an Absentee Ballot
Please read and follow the instructions below:
- You are a Qualified Voter if - pursuant to Whitney Point Central School District policy 1250 a person shall be entitled to vote at any school meeting for election of members of the Board of Education, and upon all matters which may be brought before such meeting, who is:
a) A citizen of the United States;
b) Eighteen (18) years of age or older;
c) A legal resident within the District for a period of thirty (30) days prior to the election.
- Casting your vote - If you are a qualified voter, you may follow the instructions on the ballot and mark the ballot provided.
- Absentee Ballot Envelope - Read the "Statement of Absentee Voter" on the envelope and sign and date that envelope in the spaces indicated. (Your information needs to be legible and needs to be included on the Absentee Envelope for your vote to be valid.)
- Return Envelope - Insert the completed absentee ballot envelope (with your ballot inside) in the return envelope (marked District Clerk - Whitney Point Central School District, 10 Keibel Road, Whitney Point, NY 13862) and put it in the U.S. mail and send back to the Whitney Point School District to cast your vote.
Mail your ballots early - all ballots need to be received by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2020.
