Local musician Tyson Alston performed at the TRA for Summer Enrichment.  He explained some of his instruments, interacted with the audience and allowed students on stage for a hands-on experience. The students loved the performance and joined in the fun! Tyson works for ICS in Endicott, which allows their employees time to volunteer their services to the community.  Click headline for link to a video of the performance. [ for more]

It is with a heavy heart that we share the information that former Superintendent Carol Eaton has passed away. Carol was a long-time resident and graduate of Whitney Point CSD. She also spent a number of years as a Superintendent in Massachusetts. We have lost a dedicated educator, colleague, community advocate, and friend. She will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held in Carol's honor on August 8th at 1:30 at the Sunset Memorial Services, 2659 Main, Street Whitney Point. There will be no calling hours and her burial at the cemetery in Center Lisle will follow after the service.
Carol was a lover of animals and it has been noted that if anyone is thinking of doing something in her memory, Carol would have wanted a donation to be made to an animal shelter of your choice.

Cornell Cooperative Extension's Agriculture in the Classroom representatives made a visit to our Summer Enrichment program to teach children about the source of dairy products and how butter is made. The students actually made their own butter by shaking a cup of heavy cream, and then enjoyed the butter on crackers as a healthy snack. They also got to pet 2 baby goats, Elsa and Anna! [ for more]
