The district is buzzing with construction activity this summer as we continue with Phase 2 of our capital project. Site work is well underway as part of the upgrade and expansion of our parking facitilies.
Crews have been milling up existing blacktop and reserving it for later use as a subbase material for new paving -- a move that saves the district approximately $100,000. Recent work also includes filling old, unused sewer/piping facitilies with stone in order to prevent future settling of blacktop.
Although it was necessary to remove some existing trees to accommodate for the expanded parking lot and bus loop, the new site plan provides for many new trees to be added to enhance the appearance of the district's exterior.
In addition to the site work and parking lot, work this summer includes the replacement of the WPHS roof.
