CEA students host Muffins with Mom event
On May 15, CEA first grade classes hosted a Muffins with Mom event. Students recited a poem, enjoyed muffins and played games with the special woman in their life. See photo gallery 
International Foreign Language Club dine at German restaurant with exchange students
On May 19, the Whitney Point High School's International Foreign Language Club took their yearly restaurant field trip. This year the trip was to Hallo Berlin in Conklin, New York. Students enjoyed a variety of German dishes while enjoying the company of their German foreign exchange student. 
Free Summer Camp - Sounds of China
This three-week program will offer up to 50 students in grades six through twelve a wonderful opportunity to work with experts in the fields of Chinese language and Chinese Opera on campus at Binghamton University from July 31 through August 18. While students will learn Chinese Opera together in the afternoon, the language instruction will be offered in the morning, along with some hands-on cultural activities, such as lantern-making, shadow puppet-making, book-binding and more

Last Day of School Information
The last day of school information for the Whitney Point Central School District is as follows:
The last day for High School students will be a full-day on Monday, June 12, 2017 – testing continues through Thursday, June 22, 2017. • The last day of school for K-8 students will be a half-day on Friday, June 23, 2017. Thursday, June 22 will also be a half day. Just a reminder, May 26 is a full day for all students.

Thank you to our community for supporting our School District. The Whitney Point School District Budget passed 240 yes votes to 132 No votes. The Bus Proposition passed 247 yes votes to 123 no votes.


Board Seats will be filled by Stephanie Champney, Kathleen Driscoll and Thomas Tasber.  
Family Literacy Night held at TRA
Tioughnioga Riverside Academy held its annual Family Literacy Night on May 10. Students and their families enjoyed participating in a variety of literacy-based activities including a presentation and book signing with children's author and illustrator Daniel Jude Miller, library card signups with Stephanie Champney, quotes and caricatures, a writers' gallery, a musical instrument tryout session, a used book exchange and the Scholastic Book Fair. 
Students visit Lockheed Martin to celebrate Engineering Day
On April 28, a few of our eighth-grade students visited Lockheed Martin to celebrate Engineering Day. The students had the opportunity to participate in hands-on activities including building a self-driving car, putting together all the parts of a 3D printed hand and writing code that controlled the movements of a robot.

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students:
 
Due to the eight (8) emergency/snow days used so far this school year, we are currently scheduled to make up two (2) days in order to meet the state requirement of 180 attendance days. School will be in session on Friday April 14th, This will be a half-day for students.  (continue here)
