New Student Management System
This year, WPCSD changed student management systems from Powerschool to Schooltool.  As with Powerschool, the new Schooltool system will have a Parent Portal for parents of students in grades 6-12.  We plan to open this portal next week. Invitations to log onto the new system will be sent to parents via the email we have on file.  Parents who need to update their email address should contact Kathy Gummoe at or 692-8269.Once you have created an account and logged in, please contact your child's teacher if you have questions about information in your child's record.  We hope this transition will go smoothly and that Schooltool will be a valuable tool to help parents communicate with children about their progress in school.
Families, Students & Staff Enjoy TRA Open House
The annual Tioughnioga Riverside Academy Open House was a big success, bringing students, parents and staff together on Sept. 26.  It was a great opportunity for parents and staff to get to know each other as we all work towards student success.  See photo gallery.

football A New Era Begins in WP Football
It's the dawn of a new era for Whitney Point football!  Our Golden Eagles' exciting win over visiting Oneonta ended the team's skid of 22 consecutive losses since 2014.  New Head Coach Bill Davis, his staff and the squad are working hard to build a strong team and a winning season.  Come and support the team - their next game is at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30 at Newark Valley.  See article on our Golden Eagles' win.

Superintendent's Message

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students:
The question of the day is,"Will the High School and CEA be ready to open by the time school starts?"  The answer is "YES, we will be ready to open schoool, but the project will continue throughout the year."  Sidewalks and canopies will be finished later in the fall, updates to rooms in the back wing of the High School will start midyear and the two new UPK rooms will be ready in the spring.  The decision to work second shift to finish the project during the school year became part of the plan based on the approval date we received from the State Education Department.  We are very fortunate that the contractors on the project have been working diligently and collaboratively to get us in good shape for the opening of school.  Please take a look at the campus map to note new traffic patterns including designated student drop-off/pick-up loops for both schools.
Times change and we are always looking to improve opportunities for students and keep our network infrastructure up-to-date.  This year we added the following:
  • Pre-K full-day classes for three-year-olds
  • Switching our student management system from PowerSchool to School Tool.  Parents and guardians should have received a letter in the mail asking for any updates.
  • Launching a new program, MLScheduler, an online program for requesting the use of school facilities.  Use this link for instructions on creating an account and helpful videos to assist you in requesting the use of a building or field.  If you need assistance with MLScheduler, please call 692-8245.

As I celebrate the start of my 10th year at Whitney Point CSD and my sixth year as Superintendent, I want to thank the WP Board of Education and the community for your continued support for our schools and programs.

We look forward to welcoming all of our students!
Patricia Follette, Superintendent
